Black and Blue Project

I am very proud to be the coordinator and director of this amazing gathering of talents working on an idea that I have been incubating for many years and that only something like the addition of the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre could have made possible…. There are 16 artists involved –  the illustrators are Greg Bakes, Amy Cutler, Wayne Harris, Jude Martinez, Nancy Sarno, Toby Riddle, Michel Striech, and myself and the writers are Craig Billingham, Emma Brazil, Kathy Hale, John Low, Mark O’Flynn,Vanessa Kirkpatrick, Trevor Shearston and Deb Westbury

Put this in your diary and please come along to see this and the other exhibitions at our beautiful new gallery in Katoomba.

Following is the text from the BMCC website for our exhibition starting Opening 16th May 2014 ( ends 24  June ) and  the opening event for Sydney Writers Festival Blue Mountains events in conjunction with Varuna Writers Centre.

black-and-blue

Local illustrators and writers become partners in crime as they narrate some of the mysterious historical events that have taken place in the Blue Mountains. From Mt Victoria’s haunting ‘Lady in Black’, to an unsolved society murder at Everglades in the 1920s, this exhibition explores myths, legends and strange Mountains tales through storytelling, poetry and illustration.
